Harriman Personal Log - on the Frigate
While at dock, it was decided to send several runabouts on a search mission of the area. I assigned several officers to quadrants, as well as taking one myself. I had D'Kar with me as well as two Ensigns. While on our mission, our ship encountered much difficulty. Systems were knocked out, including helm. Our ship was headed directly for a large star. I tried assisting D'Kar, but we were not able to bring our power back up. Communications with other ships was also down. I determined the only way to bring our ship to a stop was to drop the warp core and did so. Afterwards, we were picked up by another runabout. Other runabouts were not effected as ours. Upon arrival on the frigate, Captain Forrest called for a meeting to discuss what had happened. I had no answers, but that was not acceptable. I assisted in some research of what happened and enjoyed doing so, but am rather bothered that I lost the ship. This makes two ships that I have been at the helm. First the Challenger and now the runabout? Am I losing my edge? I think that I will have to throw myself back into my studies. I have no one to turn to now…Ian and Darby seem to want their distance now. At first I couldn't decide between the two of them, now I have no one. But perhaps that is why my edge is gone. Have I been distracted?
Carol Harriman Personal Log
Well, we're now cruising around on the USS Farragut. The manueverability is much easier than a Galaxy. Darby and I had been getting a little more serious until... well, I'll talk about that later. Azala is quite different...now that she has a symbioant or something like that. I'm not sure I understand what's going on with her. She went through a Klingon ceremony to join a clan. Not sure which one...just know that she passed. Although from what I've heard, she didn't look good afterwards. I'm glad she got through it. Captain Forrest didn't seem totally angry at the Challenger's outcome from the Battle of the Rift. We have been put in charge of taking several ambassadors to DS-9. What an adventure... We had a formal dinner for them. I wasn't really enjoying myself, as an Orion who I sat next to, kept putting his hands on me. I chose to drink heavily, as he did not stop and I was not allowed to leave. I found that I had a "secret admirer" and he finally identified himself...
What am I going to do? A "Q" has a crush on me? Okay, I'm worth it, BUT... Darby and I were just getting back to where we were and now... O'boy...whatever am I going to do? If I make him mad, there's no telling what he'd do to me or the crew! But I really liked Darby....
Hmmmmm... what am I going to do?

LtCmdr Harriman Personal Log after the Battle of the Rift
Now that the "Battle of the Rift" is over, we find ourselves awaiting a new ship.... Our Galaxy Class ship has more holes in it than swiss cheese and I hate it! Unfortunately, I don't know anyway that could have avoided the damage, as we had to stay in position so that Captain Albright could close the Rift. We lost good Starfleet in this battle, including Captain Albright. I'm not too sure if they are in another part of space or if they are destroyed, but I think I will assume that they are well and exploring new frontiers. I think I'll miss our Galaxy ship, despite it's size making it difficult to maneuver....After all, it was home.
I was very unnerved after the Challenger had gone missing...until I knew Darby was well. I find myself really falling for him. It's fun to be with him. He's supported me through so much, even when I wasn't myself literally. When D'Kar and I were one. He didn't waver his support. It's good to have such a person in my life.
Things are really changing for our crew. I've heard that we will be assigned to the USS Farragut, an excelsior class ship. I will have to spend some time acquainting myself and our helmsmen with the capabilities and such, while we are waiting orders. Daroos was promoted to Commander and I've heard that Commander Gav will be our 1st officer... That's interesting. He's quite knowledgeable, but seems like a grump at times. I hope this isn't the case. My friend Azala is doing better, but it's still difficult not referring to her as LtCmdr Pren, as it's Doln now. I'm not sure I understand her culture and the whole process of getting a symbioant... Perhaps she'll help me understand some day.
I haven't heard anything from Mom or Dad, nor Betsy or Jacob in quite a while. I suppose no news is good news. I hope that they received word that everything was cleared up and I was back in Starfleet... Perhaps they didn't. Is this why I haven't heard from them???

LtCmdr Harriman Personal Log: Harriman vs Paris 3/8010.20
I returned to DS9 from leave on Bajor and found out that the race around the badlands and back is still on...in 3 hours! The Challenger returned to DS9 and I went to report in. I found Daroos back on board. I then went to find Azala...Doln, to check on her condition and to see if she still wanted to compete with me in the race. I found Jeff Albright in her room and gathered that she wasn't in the mood to race. Seeing D'Kar on the Challenger was definately something I wasn't prepared for. After the initial shock, I asked if he would be interested in co-piloting with me during the race, which he accepted.
Quark me with both Commander Paris and I before the race, defining the race route and the rules. I made a small, friendly side bet with Paris (the loser buys the winner a drink). The race was tough, as we raced neck and neck for most of it. I pulled around the moon closer than Paris (with D'Kar's help). Paris and his co-pilot were dumping everything for more power... D'Kar did the same...Again, we stayed close to one another, but I managed to pull away at the end!!! WOW! I can't believe it! Thanks D'Kar!
We arrived back at DS9 where Quark welcomed us. I won 10 bars of Latinum (and gave 5 to D'Kar). We went inside Quark's Bar for some drinks. I saw Darby coming over with a bottle, but just as he was nearing Ian appeared in front of him with a beautiful bouquet of flowers! OH NO!!! I was pretty much speechless... I saw Darby leave the bar giving the bottle to D'Kar. Ian kept trying to congratulate me, etc... I didn't know really what to say. Here's Ian, who helped me like a big brother, get through the academy and then once again just recently at Bajor helped me get my focus back for Starfleet. As I was semi-listening to Ian, Darby returned. As Darby neared Ian, D'Kar reached towards Ian, grabbing him and knocking him unconscious. Darby insisted we leave... Once arriving in his quarters, I found that he had other things on his mind.
The next day was uneventful...er, until we had a senior officer's meeting... We found that we were being sent to Romulan Space. We would be the lead ship of the task force going to destroy a crystalline ship and a hybrid scout ship.
I have things on board that I need to finish up. There's evaluations and recommendations of helm officers that I would like to give Captain Albright.
I also have to figure out what to do about Ian. I don't want to hurt him, but the truth is I really think of him like a big brother.....
