I went on the station to have a drink and relax... I overheard someguys talking about different piloting manuevers...pretty easy onesfor me. I commented that we could try some out on the holodeck, buthad to report to the ship. I came back later to the station and wetried out some on the holodeck. Apparently Capt. Hikaru Sulu hasscored as high as level 77. Tom Paris managed level 70. I didn'tfare as well, only getting to level 30. I am rather disappointed inmyself. Only getting a 30 is not good enough...not at all! I mustpush myself more; do more work and practice. I have to be ready foranything. I want to be the best pilot around, and a 30 isn't goingto cut it.

Capt Forrest has changed my shift to Gamma Watch while LtCmdr Daroosis on leave. I took breakfast to Darby, first time I've reallyvisited with him since I've been back from being kicked out. I hopethat there is still hope for us. We became so close, that is, untilI messed things up. I hope I haven't wrecked things between us.

We went to DS9. Darby and I met up and went to Quark's for dinner.We had a good dinner. Capt Forrest gave some good "captain" adviceto me when he saw me in there. I found that there was a race comingup next week. It would be to race around the badlands, but thecourse would not be given until that day. Cost is 1000 credits.Perhaps Azala will be my co-pilot, since we mapped the badlands awhile back. Capt Forest gave me permission for us to sign up, evensaid he'd requistion a fighter for us! Foster is helping me toprepare and train me. I've heard that Tom Paris may be competing.*gulp* How am I going to beat him? *sigh*

All senior officers had dinner with Capt Kira. We were asked to goto the bad lands and do some investigations. Capt Forrest will begone, as he is escorting Farek to Ferenginar to deal with Farek andanother Farek... Quite a mess! But if anyone can deal with it,it's Capt Forrest. I'd love to be a fly on the wall when bothFarek's meet...Upon arriving in the Badlands, we went to the planet New Altos andtook some samples from it. The planet was smooth.. We read somelife signs under the surface... The samples were some type of metal-like substance. I finally realized that it was the same substancethat was put into containment when we were on the Volga.....It's alittle unnerving with this substance around.
